UK indie film company Chat Noir Productions based near Chester is happy to announce Joseph Fox’s score for Dreamscape has won best feature at the second Jerry Goldsmith Young film composer awards 2007 in Ubeda Spain!
Dreamscape (Chat Noir Productions first feature) is a fast paced sci-fi thriller, made for just £5000, and is all ready attracting interest from US distributors. A follow up to writer Daniel J. Fox’s 2003 film Vendetta, which premiered at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival 2004, winning best International Short!
Joseph Fox was the only composer from the UK to reach the finals and beat stiff competition from composers with Hollywood experience on films such as Scary Movie 2 and Die Hard 4!!!!
Broadway Cinema has launched DIGITAL BROADWAY, its new exhibition programme of digital art and moving image. Broadway now has 4 distinct areas to exhibit moving image artwork within the building:
The Glass Screen; large scale projections on the glazed front of the building. Viewable from the street and inside the Mezzanine bar. The Bar Screen; large projections in the popular ground floor cafe bar space. The Small Screens; an LCD screen network located around the building. Cinema Screen; Monthly screenings of artists’ film and video (last Tuesday each month).
We are looking to commission exclusive art work for Broadway’s Bar Screen and Glass Screen. 6 x Glass Screen commissions at £1000 each. The work will be shown for six weeks. 8 x Bar Screen commissions at £500 each. The work will be shown for four weeks. These commissions are possible with the assistance of Arts Council England funding. We are also looking to curate a wide range of new and existing artists’ film and video, short films and networked art works on the Small Screens and welcome your submissions.

Crossover UK is looking for 10 experienced doc makers and 10 interactive producers from Yorkshire and London to take part in a five-day residential laboratory designed to brainstorm cross-platform documentary projects. The lab is aimed at producers with previous credits in either interactive/new media projects or documentary/factual projects.
During the five-days, the 20 talented and responsive individuals will explore the creative and commercial challenges of developing documentary content and services for digital delivery in a 360-commissioning world. Following success of the labs in Australia and The States, this is the first time Crossover will be held in the UK.
The lab will be held in a remote country retreat and will be facilitated by interactive and documentary leaders including independent producers and decision makers from BBC and Channel 4. A number of commissioning editors will be visiting throughout the week.
Crossover UK participants will be eligible to win £10,000 prize for a crossplatform project at the Crossover pitch comp to be held at this year’s Sheffield Doc/Fest. Previous Crossovers labs have produced award-winning innovative cross-platform projects. Places are very limited and competitive so apply now!!

As a favourite waitress at Joe’s Diner, Jenna (Russell) is also a “pie genius,” naming her tantalizing confections after the tumultuous events and emotions of her daily life. She’s hoping that if she can win a £25,000 pie contest, the one of her pastries might even change her life. When Jenna discovers she’s pregnant, however, she immediately bakes an “I don’t want Earl’s Baby” pie. After all, her husband Earl (Sisto) is a jealous jerk who is essentially a child himself. The last thing they need to do is start a family together. Eventuallu, however, it is the pregnancy that changes the course of events in Jenna’s life, giving her an unexpected and newfound confidence via the letters she writes to her unborn baby.
